Over the past couple of months I have been slowly and intentionally working on a new collection of weavings dedicated to the elementals which I often refer to as the first four ancestors.

Earth, Air, Fire and Water are all fundamental to our well being and survival on this beautiful planet we call home.

Our bodies are made up of these elementals and when we die our bodies return to them as we go back to the earth.

As I sat with not just a colour palette dedicated to these beautiful ancestors I also wanted to channel the movement and play within each so those who wear these creations also can move and play, catching the trail of their essence as they cloak themselves in these weavings.

With this water shawl I wanted to give the sense of deep and flowing waters, rivers, oceans, lakes and small underground streams of all kinds.

Using many different shades of blue and adding in a few-lines of cowrie shells for movement and sound this shawl was created in honour of the shapeshifting and precious waters of this earth.

This piece comes with a seashell shawl pin and the length is 95″ long including tassels.
