Brilliance of Iridescence Medicine shawl. The world needs ALL of your colour!
This piece is similar to a storytellers shawl I made a few months ago, however with this one, I wanted to keep the pattern simple and allow the colours to really be the essence here, which is why I have named it the Brilliance of Iridescence.
Just like the wings of a dragonfly, or the feathers of a hummingbird hold a spectrum of colour, so do all of us as humans also carry a thousand different colours within us which is a gift fo all those around us when we really can shine!
If you are reading this today–this is a message to you to shine all of your beautiful self so that we can enjoy the beauty of you!
The yarns I used are some that I have been hoarding for years while I waited for the perfect inspiration to hit me and I think they really shine in this piece.
As I was weaving images of Dragonfly’s and hummingbirds kept flashing before my eyes, with all of their iridescent splendour, and so it felt fitting to add a dragonfly shawl pin to complete it.
I have also tied a fancy fringe to the bottom of each end, which elevates this piece so much!
Yarns used are cotton and merino.
